- Spain will now produce key components of Patriot PAC-3 advanced air defense missile system.
- Spanish companies Sener and Oesía Tecnobit will contribute to the international supply chain.
- Lockheed Martin’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Spanish defense capabilities.
At FEINDEF 2025 held in Madrid, Spanish Ministry of Defense and Lockheed Martin España S.A. signed a decisive agreement on industrial cooperation. The agreement is a crucial step forward for U.S.-Spain defense relations, helping local firms get involved in the national assembly of PAC-3 MSE missiles.
Because of the agreement, Spanish companies Sener and Oesía Tecnobit will contribute to the international supply chain of PAC-3 MSE systems. At Sener, skilled engineers will make high-accuracy actuators important for Lockheed Martin’s missiles, and Oesía Tecnobit will manufacture the essential harness and cabling required for proper operation of the missiles. With this teamwork, the PAC-3 MSE’s main subsystems are strengthened and Spain is recognized in the world’s prominent interceptor system.
Brian Kubik, Lockheed Martin’s Vice President of PAC-3 Programs, emphasized the partnership’s significance, stating, “Allied industrial partnerships like this one are vital for shared security interests and underscore Lockheed Martin’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Spanish defense capabilities.” Through the efforts of more than 3,125 employees worldwide in the PAC-3 program, Lockheed Martin sustains the supply chain and continues to improve technology. The agreement encourages job growth and helps Spain’s industry in exchange for giving the U.S. and Europe more options to supply defense devices.
In 2024, Spain signed an agreement with the U.S. to outfit its existing Patriot battalions with PAC-3 MSE interceptors. With this advance, the Spanish Army can defend the air and battlefields more strongly and effectively deal with ballistic attacks, as the PAC-3 MSE uses precision without fragmentation.
The agreement expands Lockheed Martin’s partnership with Spanish companies, built on their teamwork with Sener and Oesía Tecnobit since last year. The pact helps enhance Spain’s defense capabilities, while also matching the defense progress happening in Asia, including India’s “Make in India” program. The FEINDEF 2025 event underlines that such alliances are key in shaping a stable and robust security situation around the world.
